I am thinking that the ‘netz needs some happy tunes today. Like, some REALLY happy tunes. But I SWEAR that I didn’t rig this week’s MRT. I would NEVER do that! EVAH!
I dedicate this week’s MRT to you who need it. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!
So, on with the show!
3 — Britney Spears
Give It Up To Me — Shakira feat. Lil Wayne
You’re My Best Friend — Queen
I Believe in a Thing Called Love — The Darkness
Kaboom! — Ursula 1000
Birdhouse in Your Soul — They Might Be Giants
Loose Lips — Kimya Dawson
Fever — Adam Lambert (which Lady Gaga brought to Lambert for his album. I hear they had fun working together.)
Baba O’Riley — The Who (b/c this song has my favorite musical intro of all time)
I have done an Ear Candy post in a very very long time, but this one is very appropos of today. And it isn’t very nostalgia-y, being relatively new…but…umm…yeah.
[video: Adam Lambert’s “Whataya Want From Me”, he is having a very emotional looking fight with another “him” dressed in a suit who appears to get frustrated with the first him, in a very Spartan apartment. Interspersed with scenes of Lambert and a band performing and scenes of him in a fancy car leaving shows. The scenes are very intense as one Lambert even packs and looks ready to leave, and the other seems to be upset and possibly grieving his leaving. The camera angle at the end, and Lambert’s smile indicates that possibly the other one has come back to maybe try to “work it out”. Or, that is how I am/have usually read it.]
Lyrics:
Hey, slow it down
What do you want from me
What do you want from me
Yeah, I’m afraid
What do you want from me
What do you from me
There might have been a time
I would give myself away
(Ooh) Once upon a time
I didn’t give a damn
But now here we are
So what do you want from me
What do you want from me
Just don’t give up
I’m workin’ it out
Please don’t give in
I won’t let you down
It messed me up, need a second to breathe
Just keep coming around
Hey, what do you want from me
What do you want from me
Yeah, it’s plain to see
that baby you’re beautiful
And it’s nothing wrong with you
It’s me – I’m a freak
but thanks for lovin’ me
Cause you’re doing it perfectly
There might have been a time
When I would let you step away
I wouldn’t even try but I think
you could save my life
Just don’t give up
I’m workin’ it out
Please don’t give in
I won’t let you down
It messed me up, need a second to breathe
Just keep coming around
Hey, what do you want from me
What do you want from me
Just don’t give up on me
I won’t let you down
No, I won’t let you down
So
Just don’t give up
I’m workin’ it out
Please don’t give in
I won’t let you down
It messed me up, need a second to breathe
Just keep coming around
Hey, what do you want from me
Just don’t give up
I’m workin’ it out
Please don’t give in
I won’t let you down
It messed me up, need a second to breathe
Just keep coming around
Hey, whataya want from me
(whataya want from me)
Whataya want from me
whataya want from me
The “Sshhhh! Mommy has a migraine!” edition! Who decided these kids need breaks from school? HA!
It’s been a long week here at random babble… and that means that the weekend wasn’t very restful, but also that you all will be treated to some loverly photos of Korea very soon(ish). Someone here crossed into her third decade of life and got a spiffy new Not Piano (that is a long but funny story!) which means that there will be some great new pictures around here!
Hope you are all having a nice Monday, and now we will get your week going!
Without further fuss:
Adding to the Noise — Switchfoot
Broken Open — Adam Lambert
Ain’t Nothing Wrong With That — Robert Randolph and the Family Band
Why, yes I am very liberal w/ my definition of Monday — Mine or yours, I don’t really mind. But since my Monday was very productive and incredibly exhausting, I will entertain you with the Western Hemisphere’s.

Ron and Lavender TOTALLY STOLE HARRY AND GINNY’S KISS! *ahem*
It is rainy and a bit gloomy here in the Land of the Morning Calm… not how I want to start my week. We kicked some major ass on our ville yesterday, and it is looking pretty awesome. We threw open the patio doors and some windows and enjoyed a nice breeze all day Sunday… then this gloom set in.
I hope you had some time to slow down and reflect upon and celebrate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Remember that his life didn’t just mean a day off and extra time to screw around.
Let’s have some music for your Monday, however you have spent it.
You know what to do: Turn on your iPod, iTunes or other music gadget, and list the first ten songs that come up.
We recently added some new stuff from a recent outing to one of the local music stores where The Guy picked up some CDs, and I finally got around to uploading them into the external.
So, without further ado:

Kelly Clarkson, Miss Independent AOL Live Session. I absolutely love Kelly Clarkson. I am talking some major girl crushage here. Kelly, if you vanity Google, and come across this post, please come to Korea and do a USO show, and invite me to meet you back stage! I will cook you a most delicious meal for you and your whole band! That woman has some pipes, and she sings w/ a little bit of grit. Love *swoon* *lessthanthree*
*heh-hem*
Video Description: Shots of the band playing interspersed with Kelly Clarkson singing the song “Miss Independent”.
see more Lol CelebsThere is a thick blanket of beautiful, nigh untouched snow blanketing everything I can see…and it is the first winter we have really had in years. This is actually The Kid’s first one in her living memory. The down side is that the base came to a screeching halt…so we had a Snow Day. Guess no one else around here is from Real Northern Michigan. I can still see the cars…
Anyhow.
Shall we?
The City — Joe Purdy
Just Feel Better — Santana featuring Steven Tyler
Higher Ground — Red Hot Chili Peppers
Blister in the Sun — Violent Femmes
Bicycle Race — Queen
She Will Be Loved — Maroon 5
Losing Grip — Avril Lavigne
Open Arms — Journey
Tell Me (Rap Version) — Wonder Girls
Get Mine, Get Yours — Christina Aguilera
And of course, I believe we need a bonus video for the week, huh?
The video for the Wonder Girls song is particularly fun.
It starts off with five Korean young women dressed in school uniforms watching television. It seems that you are supposed to determine that four of them are “pretty” and the fifth one is possibly nerdy. Then it switches to dance scenes mixed with scenes of the girls at school. The “nerdy” girl transforms into Wonder Woman when various troubled situations arise, ultimately saving the day.
