Monday Random Ten

Mr. Spock (Leonard Nimor) and Captain Kirk (William Shatner) look intently at something, and we are to believe it is an oven. The text reads "Looks like the cookies are done."

Ho ho! You never thought to see an MRT on Wednesday! Well, here it is!

What is this special occasion you ask?

Well, I have in fact greatly enhanced the “pop” section of my iTunes as of yesterday, and since this ten minutes is the first time that I have had to sit down and enjoy internets today without worry of “ZOMCC will I get this finished in time?!?” (the answer was NO, in fact the power will go out and I will lose over an hour of my brain’s great labour!).

So, since I am like an excited puppy who has to pee because I think Kelly Clarkson must in fact READ MY BLOG*, because there must be no other rational explanation for her coming to Seoul next week and doing a concert and no other rational explanation for the USO giving us a discount on tickets, I will now give you this week’s slightly delayed MRT, heavy on the Clarkson (I hope…DON’T LET ME DOWN iTUNES!):

  1. Bad Romance — Lady Gaga
  2. Worst Day Since Yesterday — Flogging Molly
  3. Whyyawannabringmedown — Kelly Clarkson <—- This song really rocks. I am not kidding!
  4. …Said Sadly — Smashing Pumpkins <—- Awesome b-side NOT sung by Corgan, if you are interested
  5. Another One Bites the Dust — Queen
  6. All I Ever Wanted — Kelly Clarkson <—- I did not set this up! :D
  7. I Am Somebody — Santana Featuring Will.I.Am
  8. This is Your Life — Switchfoot
  9. Blame It on the Weatherman — B*Witched  <—- DO NOT JUDGE ME! I WATCHED CHARMED TOO!
  10. Somewhere Over the Rainbow / What a Wonderful World — Israel Kamakawiwo’ole <—- This song often makes me cry…true story, I really have feelings.

Shall we? (Video after the jump)B*Witched – Blame It on the Weatherman

[Video: A stormy city, the clouds are rolling, and a young woman picks a guitar out of the water while singing. Other young women pick other things out of the water, such as a suitcase while on a boat-like structure (apologies, for the video is sort of fuzzy for me) a wrecked and floating old truck. They sing while floating on the seeming floating dock floating truck, rigged with large tires. As they float and sing the sun breaks through the clouds and it becomes bright. One of them drops what appears to be a charm bracelet into the water. Yay! They have now rescued a puppy floating on a nearby piece of flotsam. A car attempts to rise from the water and fails. There are statues. And a sea animal that may have been a swordfish or a dolphin, but was very fast. People emerge on the tops of the buildings (I think the city may have been submerged in a storm? I am not entirely clear until the end of the video that it seems to be so).]

Lyrics:

It’s just one day
No one said
There would be rain again
Won’t blame it on myself
I’ll blame it on the weatherman
Get away for a while
Here I am out on my own again
Won’t blame it on myself
I’ll blame it on the weatherman

Standing on the store
Calling out your name
I was here before
I could see your face
Only clouds will see
Tears are in my eyes
Empty like my heart
Why do ya say goodbye

The rain goes on (on and on again)
The rain goes on (on and on again)

Alone I can hear
Hear our song
Playing for me again
Won’t blame it on myself
Just blame it on the weatherman

Standing on the store
Calling out your name
I was here before
I could see your face
Only clouds will see
Tears are in my eyes
Empty like my heart
Why do ya say goodbye

The rain goes on (on and on again)
The rain goes on (on and on again)

Maybe it’s too late
Maybe it’s too late to try again
Maybe I can’t pray
Maybe I can’t wait
Maybe I can’t blame the weatherman

The rain goes on (on and on again)
The rain goes on (on and on again)

Oh blame it on the weatherman

Have a glorious day!

*If this is true, perhaps she really would like to come over for some fabulous home cooking? Call me Kelly! XOXO!

And then maybe I can also use this power to entice the fabulous Haus of Gaga?
